Helping you choose the perfect vacuum sealer

Usually most of the dry fruits and foods we have when need to be stored pose one major problem. When they are exposed to air, they tend to lose their freshness and their taste as well. Same goes for coffee and most of our snacks. In fact there are any electronic equipment which would need to be preserved from being overly exposed to air as well. This is where vacuum sealers come into play.

What is a vacuum sealer?

It is a sealing system which does exactly what the name suggests. As noted on, it creates a vacuum and seals things so that they do not break down after being out in the open for too long. Usually, a plastic film packaging is used to create a vacuum and seal close all the things inside.

How does the vacuum sealer work?

Instead of creating a vacuum, the vacuum sealer sucks out all the air from the sealing bag. You can’t do this with zipping seal bags since they are not designed to create a vacuum. The bag sucks out all the air from the bag and melts the top of the specially designed plastic seal to create a lock which would prevent any air from going inside

Vacuum-SealerTypes of vacuum sealers

There are different types of vacuum sealers available in the market that you need to be aware of before you buy one from the market.

Manual vs. automatic

Automatic vacuum sealer creates the vacuum and seals the bag on its own when it knows that the vacuum has been created. For this, you will have to go through the instructions and find out how the switches work. With the manual, however, you yourself should know when the vacuum is created. Once you know that enough of it is present in the bag to preserve the things inside, you can seal it close.

Chambers vs. non-chambers

Both these vacuum sealers use different types of sealing bags. If you work a lot with liquids and would need to seal a whole lot of them then chamber vacuum sealers are what you need to be investing in. They have special bags and powerful vacuum channels which help create a vacuum around liquids. The non-chamber units work on bags and canisters. They do not have the power to seal the liquids. In fact, even with fish and meat, you should have them frozen before you seal them. After you seal them, you can put them back in the freezer to have them last for a longer period of time.

If you think that vacuum sealers are meant only for food then you might want to think again. It can help keep your jewelry, silverware, and other items safe too from tarnishing when exposed to air. However, for best results, make sure you keep all sealed bags away from pointy objects. Once sealed, keep the food frozen so that the defrosting doesn’t work against the vacuum which is created in the bag to keep it safe.
